About the Sustainable Innovation Forum

The Sustainable Investment Forum Europe 2025 offers a crucial platform for finance stakeholders to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the sustainable finance market in Europe. The Forum supports the acceleration of growth while prioritising the transition towards a resilient, equitable, and nature positive sustainable economy.

Organised by Climate Action in official partnership with UNEP-FI, the Forum will convene 400 financial stakeholders in Paris for its 8th annual edition. Through discussions on portfolio alignment, physical climate risk mitigation and adaptation and decarbonising assets across portfolios, the Forum will emphasize the importance of responsible investing for a just and equitable transition to accelerate Europe’s economic transformation.

Financing the Global Energy Transition: Building Roadmaps for Investment and Scale

29 April 2025 | 10:00 – 11:00

As the world accelerates toward net-zero, the lack of clear, actionable financing roadmaps continues to stall critical energy transition projects. This session will explore what transition finance tools can be structured to unlock scalable clean energy projects globally; what project-level and policy-level clarity investors need to deploy capital with confidence and what stakeholders want to see in finance roadmaps being developed for countries, industries, and the investment community.

The Climate Action Coalition has launched its Global Clean Power Taskforce, co-chaired by former UNFCCC Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa and former UK Energy Minister and Net Zero Review Chair Chris Skidmore: this roundtable provides the unique opportunity for participants to feed in their observations on financing the global energy transition (Home – Climate Action Coalition) for a report that the taskforce will be publishing ahead of COP30. At the same time, Chris Skidmore chairs the Policy and Sector Pathways working group of the UK Transition Finance Council, launched by the UK Chancellor last Autumn, which is keen to engage on how to deliver effective transition finance through credible sector roadmaps that can be deployed to unlock confidence and investment.
