The Climate Action Coalition is a mission-driven initiative bringing together a global community of organisations committed to achieving our 2030 climate and nature goals.
Through a series of taskforces, reports, online roundtables and in-person events, the Coalition has an acute focus on the practical steps required to unblock delivery barriers over the next five years, get investment flowing where it’s needed, and sharing best practice that can be replicated at speed and scale.
The COP29 Outcomes Forum took place on Wednesday 4 December, hosted by the Climate Action Coalition, the Policy Institute at King’s College London, and DIPLOMAT Magazine.
Convening diplomats, business leaders, academics and senior civil society representatives, the event unpicked what was achieved at COP29 and explored ambition and implementation over the next 12 months.

The Climate Action Coalition is delighted to welcome Simon McWhirter to the Coalition as co-Chair of the Built Environment Taskforce alongside Coalition Chair Chris Skidmore.
Simon currently serves as Deputy Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) and brings with him a wealth of experience and insight into the decarbonisation and much-needed future adaptation of the built environment.

The coalition is an inclusive, collaborative initiative, with members from diverse industry sectors and geographies. Corporate Members will include climate champions already spearheading global climate action to businesses needing help transitioning to a 1.5C pathway. The Coalition will also include leading non-governmental organisations, inter-governmental organisations, UN Agencies, industry associations and academic institutions, invited as knowledge partners to share their expertise.
The Climate Action Coalition is a partnership between the Rt Hon Chris Skidmore OBE and Climate Action.
Chris Skidmore is former UK Energy Minister who signed net zero into UK law in 2019 and was Chair of the country’s Net Zero Review and Mission Zero Coalition. He is regarded as one of the leading voices for climate action in the UK.
Climate Action is a mission-led business dedicated to facilitating collaboration to accelerate global climate action. It runs a series of high-profile events at COP, London Climate Action Week and Climate Week NYC.
To deliver action at speed and scale we must work collaboratively and overcome siloes between government and business, share expertise across sectors and borders, and synergise the impacts of policy developments with climate solutions.
2030 is a pivotal global milestone in achieving net zero emissions by 2050, and meeting the ambition set by the Paris Agreement of achieving a 1.5°C world. Transformative action over the next five years is critical.
