The Climate Action Coalition is a mission-driven initiative bringing together a global community of organisations committed to achieving our 2030 climate and nature goals.
Through a series of Taskforces, reports, online roundtables and in-person events, the Coalition will focus on the real time delivery of the 2030 climate goals agreed at COP28, including the trebling of renewable energy, the doubling of energy efficiency measures, and the targets set across the Breakthrough Agenda.
The Climate Action Coalition was announced at the Climate Innovation Forum during London Climate Action Week 2024. Nick Henry, Founder and CEO of Climate Action and the Rt Hon Chris Skidmore, Chair of the Climate Action Coalition, took to the stage alongside Secretary John Kerry, former US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate who endorsed the “tremendous initiative” and highlighted the critical need for cross-sector and private sector partnerships to deliver climate action at speed and scale.
The Online Launch of the Climate Action Coalition took place on Friday 26th July, with the Rt Hon Chris Skidmore, Chair of the Climate Action Coalition, and Secretary Jennifer Morgan, Germany’s Special Envoy for International Climate Action.

Five Future Taskforces will be decided in collaboration with founding members of the Climate Action Coalition. Provisionally these include Nature & the Regenerative Economy, Transport and Heavy Industry.
The coalition is an inclusive, collaborative initiative, with members from diverse industry sectors and geographies. Corporate Members will include climate champions already spearheading global climate action to businesses needing help transitioning to a 1.5C pathway. The Coalition will also include leading non-governmental organisations, inter-governmental organisations, UN Agencies, industry associations and academic institutions, invited as knowledge partners to share their expertise.
The Climate Action Coalition is a partnership between the Rt Hon Chris Skidmore OBE and Climate Action.
Chris Skidmore is former UK Energy Minister who signed net zero into UK law in 2019 and was Chair of the country’s Net Zero Review and Mission Zero Coalition. He is regarded as one of the leading voices for climate action in the UK.
Climate Action is a mission-led business dedicated to facilitating collaboration to accelerate global climate action. It runs a series of high-profile events at COP, London Climate Action Week and Climate Week NYC.
To deliver action at speed and scale we must work collaboratively and overcome siloes between government and business, share expertise across sectors and borders, and synergise the impacts of policy developments with climate solutions.
2030 is a pivotal global milestone in achieving net zero emissions by 2050, and meeting the ambition set by the Paris Agreement of achieving a 1.5°C world. Transformative action over the next five years is critical.
The Coalition is a year-round platform for organisations to actively engage, learn and share. It builds on Climate Action’s portfolio of high-profile events which bring together leaders from business, policy and finance at key moments in the global climate calendar.
